Addict's Options

To access the options form:  In the main form under the menu heading File select Options.

    Option-by-option

    • Always automatically activate Addict when Windows starts up

If this option is selected, when you boot up Windows you will notice a picture of an eyeball in the taskbar (usually located in the lower right corner of the screen). You can then access Addict by double-clicking or right-clicking the eyeball.
    • Show advanced user options
Select this to be able to see a list of running programs when creating a new task.  This is very useful, and even necessary to be able to turn off some full-screen applications (that don't have a title bar).  However, since the list of running programs contains internal Windows processes which should not be terminated under any circumstances, novice users should exercise care or keep this option deselected.

    • Use password
Pick this in order to be able to create tasks which can only be deleted by providing a password.  To learn more about this, see the description of a task.
If you elect to use the password, Addict will require you to enter it whenever you attempt to do certain things, such as change options or delete password-only tasks.  In addition, another option becomes available:
    • Users can be required to input the password in order to create new tasks.
For more details, consult the password description.
